OUR STORY

It all started on a very hot NYC
summer night, Friday, July 29, 2016 …

Liz just returned on a red-eye flight from her brother’s wedding and her boss at the time, Brent Fierro, invited her to a surprise engagement party that night where he was proposing to Nick’s cousin, Jess Henges. What started as a “let’s stay for a few drinks” ended up being a night that changed their lives forever. After catching each others eyes far too many times … Liz grew impatient, strutted up to Nick, playfully tapped him on the chest and said “Hi, I’m Liz”. Ever since that rooftop night, they have not gone one day without talking. After eight months of dating long distance, Nick and their beloved Hazel made the drive from Fort Worth, TX to NYC where they moved into Liz’s Upper East Side 300ish sqft studio apartment, and several months later moved into a slightly larger one bedroom. After 10 years in NYC for Liz, and nearly 5 years for Nick and Hazel, the trio made the drive back down to Dallas, TX on Halloween 2021. Six years, one month and four days later, 2,226 days total … they will be married on
Friday, September 2, 2022.
